Check Out Jumanji 3s Main Cast Assembled For Action

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a surprise hit when it came out back in 2017. It put up the sort of box office numbers that virtually guarantees a sequel is going to get made. That movie is now in production and co-star Karen Gillan shared a new look at herself along with her three main co-stars. Along with the image comes a bit of rhyming verse that sets an ominous tone for Jumanji 3.

The rhyming verse is a standard part of the Jumanji movies, so it fits perfectly with the picture that brings Karen Gillan, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart together again. In Welcome to the Jungle they played the four video game avatars that were inhabited by four teenagers. While those teens took steps to ensure nobody would play the Jumanji game again, it seems that the effort was in vain.

Of course, one has to wonder exactly what Karen Gillan means by saying "some things aren't as they seem." She's implying that there's something about the team that is not as it seems, though there's nothing about any of them that stands out. They certainly look like the same characters they were last time.

Of course there are a number of reasons things could be slightly different this time around. We know that the same group of kids who controlled the Jumanji avatars will be back in major roles. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be the ones playing the game. We could see all new players who would in turn give these four characters entirely new personalities.

Alternatively, and probably more likely, we could see the same four kids switch around who is playing as which avatar. This means that we could see very different performances from these four characters. Each pairing in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was about matching each teen with a particular insecurity they had, but by the end of the story, they appeared to have overcome those issues. This may free them up to pick a new character and potentially explore a new story by doing so.

We'll likely have to wait and see, at least until the first trailer, to get an idea of how Jumanji 3, which probably won't be called that, will differentiate itself from the previous film. It may be some time before we see much, however. The movie is only filming now and plans to hit screens in December, which is a remarkably fast turn around for a film of its size. There may not be that much time between getting digital effects completed in post-production, and the film's release, making the window for a trailer a small one.

Still, based on the success of the last movie, marketing is the least of the concerns for the new Jumanji. There's a fan base looking forward to this sequel that will only need to wait until this holiday season.

This Kris Jenner Captain Marvel Mash-Up Ad Is One Of The Weirdest Things We've Seen

This Kris Jenner Captain Marvel Mash-Up Ad Is One Of The Weirdest Things We've Seen

Bet you didnt know Keeping Up with The Kardashians matriarch Kris Jenner was part of the MCU back in the 90s anyway. Ahead of the release of Captain Marvel this Friday, Jenner has joined in on the promotion of the film with an unexpected and totally nostalgic advertisement that includes a run-in with Carol Danvers. Check it out:

Talk about random! Kris Jenner posted the video on her Instagram on Monday with the caption as a momager, I know talent when I see it before encouraging her 25.3 million followers to check out the movie in theaters this weekend. Who knew the social media influencer would be a last minute supporter to help the film go "higher, further, faster, baby" in its upcoming opening weekend?

The 40-second video sees Kris Jenner and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa Rinna rolling up to Blockbuster video store in a swanky white convertible circa the 1990s. Jenner asks Rinna one question quite specific to the era did she rewind those VHS tapes? Rinna did not, stating she has better things to do think this hair does itself?

But suddenly, Carol Danvers falls out of the sky and through the ceiling of the Blockbuster, as teased in the trailers for Captain Marvel. This leads Lisa Rinna to drop her VHS rentals and Kris Jenner to show some concern for her friend. Rinna sees Carol in the store, as Jenner calls out for her to help her. At that point, Rinna pulls another hilarious one-liner: Im an actress, not a doctor!

Kris Jenner steps out of the car to see the new MCU lead and says I dont think she needs any help, what she needs is her own movie! as she pulls out a large 90s flip phone before cuts from the movie pop up to close out the advertisement.

Since Captain Marvel lands in Los Angeles, California in 1995, the mash-up with the reality television stars is a weird and cheesy though funny approach for the films ongoing publicity. During the movie's time period of 1995, Jenner was expanding her family her now 23-year-old supermodel daughter Kendall Jenner was born. Rinna was a soap opera star who had starred in Days of Our Lives and would soon find another role on Melrose Place.

Although Captain Marvel was recently plagued with trolls on Rotten Tomatoes prior to release, reviews (a.k.a. people who have actually seen the movie) have recently been published and the consensus is largely positive.

Captain Marvel follows Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a former Air Force pilot who has become an intergalactic warrior with Starforce. Amidst a war between the Kree and Skrulls, she lands in 90s Earth (yes, in a Blockbuster) before meeting and teaming up with a young Nick Fury. You can apparently follow Kris Jenner and see the movie this Friday, March 8.

The LEGO Movie 2 Considered Taking The Action To A LEGO Convention

The LEGO Movie 2 Considered Taking The Action To A LEGO Convention

Chris Pratt's ascension into a bonafide movie star happened due to his role in a trio of franchises: Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World, and The Lego Movie. The latter was a massive hit when it arrived in 2014, and helped to spawn a number of spinoffs. But the main franchise is getting its first sequel with The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, bringing back the motley crew of minifigure characters, and introducing a few newcomers in the process.

The Lego Movie 2 has a ton of pressure to deliver for the generations of fans, especially after the heartwarming ending of the first film. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were tasked with crafting a follow-up, and recently told CinemaBlend's Eric Eisenberg some of the ideas that got scrapped on the way to theaters-- including a sequence set in a Lego convention. As Lord told it,

We started with this idea of, lets try to tell a story from the brothers point of view, and the sisters point of view at the same time. And see what its like when their two imaginations happen to come together. That was sort of the basic thing. There were other thoughts in there, there was a whole set piece at a Lego convention. But ultimately it really felt like the story needed to take place in their home. And that the stairs between the basement and the sisters room was like the main arena for them to play in. It got a bit big. And it lost the focus on this brother and sister dynamic that seemed to be the heart of the movie.

While putting Emmet, Lucy, and Lego Batman smack dab in the middle of a convention seems like the makings of an excellent action sequence with plenty of comedic opportunities, Phil Lord and Chris Miller ultimately decided to make the Lego Movie 2 a more capsulated story. Like the first movie, it's set in a regular household which happens to contain a massive collection of Legos.

From the trailers The Lego Movie 2: The Second One is taking quite a bit of inspiration from Mad Max, showing what happened to Bricksburg after the Duplo invasion from the first film. The upcoming animated blockbuster will once again be poking fun at itself, including a new character that is an amalgamation of Chris Pratt's myriad roles.

You can check out Eric Eisenberg's conversation with Chris Miller and Phil Lord below.

It looks like the directors of The Lego Movie 2 took special care with what they included in the upcoming sequel. And as such, some ideas had to be left behind so the story could be more purposeful.

Audiences will get to judge for themselves when The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part arrives in theaters on February 8th, 2019. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.

Hearts Beat Loud Trailer: Nick Offerman Starts A Band In Heartwarming Sundance Hit

Every once in a while, you just need a feel-good movie. We don't get many of them, but they are a welcome change of pace amidst all the blockbusters and end-of-the-world type affairs. That looks to be exactly what we are getting with Hearts Beat Loud. The small film starring Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons made a splash at Sundance earlier this year, netting positive reviews for the heartwarming musical tale about a father and daughter who start a band together. Now we have a trailer for the film, and it just looks like one of those movies where you'll walk out of the theater smiling.

First off, Nick Offerman seems perfectly cast as a record store owner and quintessentially corny dad who is always trying to connect to his daughter even as she grows up and doesn't need him as much anymore. It's also really cool to see the actor probably best known for his character Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation getting to lead a movie like this. The father/daughter relationship will be the heart of this movie, and it looks like Nick Offerman and Dope actress Kiersey Clemons have great chemistry together. The relationship between Frank and Sam Fisher (not that Sam Fisher) will be both tested and strengthened over the course of the movie, and Hearts Beat Loud will undoubtedly pull at audience heartstrings accordingly. This is really a charming trailer overall and promises a movie that strikes a great balance between being funny, heartwarming and emotional.

I'm a big fan of movies like this that are about music, but don't fall into the traditional category of musicals where people randomly break into song and dance. Grounded musical movies like Once, Crazy Heart and Whiplash use music as a way to explore characters and relationships, as well as how we express ourselves through song. The original music written for the movie is actually being performed by Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons, adding a layer of authenticity to it and continuing to prove that the multi-talented Nick Offerman is an example to us all. As with any musical, the music has to be good, and the songs here sound really catch. I wouldn't be surprised if the soundtrack got a lot of play once Hearts Beat Loud comes out.

Hearts Beat Loud was actually shot over just 19 days by writer and director Brett Haley, whose previous work includes The Hero and I'll See You In My Dreams. The film boasts a great supporting cast that includes Ted Danson, Toni Collette and Sasha Lane. Hearts Beat Loud starts a jam sesh in theaters on June 8. For everything else hitting in 2018, check out our release schedule.
